Waltham Firefighters wearing pink badge bands for Breast Cancer Awareness

Waltham Firefighters Local 886 purchased pink badge bands for all of our members to wear during the month of October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Cancer touches us all, and we see its effects every day as first responders. The badge band is a tradition of mourning in the fire and police service. Usually, the band is black to signify the loss of a fellow brother or sister. This month, we are wearing pink to call attention to breast cancer.
