This past week Waltham firefighters were trained in the rescue of a fellow firefighter (mannequin) who is running out of oxygen and has activated a MAY DAY.
The drill took place at a soon-to-be demolished office building on Second Avenue.
Training Deputy Brock Rowland led the train with the assistance of Lt Mike Quinn.
RIT members entered the building with obstructed breathing apparatus simulating a smoke charged environment. Firefighters crawled along the floor and when they reach the downed firefighter, then administered oxygen and then dragged him to safety.
In addition to the rescue operation, radio protocol was emphasized.
